Richly textured and technologically inspired. These guys are definitely on the right track. (read it all)

Riley's April 11th 2001
...A great show and a super crowd. Empire Day took the stage at 10pm, and did they take it. The familiar sounds with a newer touch filled Riley's to the very core.
The return of Eric Mclear was one of the many highlights. the man has came from behind the curtain, and shown a side I haven't seen before. "Choose" his new instrumental, With Extremely new electronics and sounds he filled the void, Effortlessly creating a more modern Empire Day.
The set started out with "Air Raid" and the music covered the crowed like a siren.
Marv gave one of his best performances ever. With passion and power, his vocals melted through Riley's sound system and into the audience minds. "Fly" was preformed with such power that you felt like you were on stage with him.
Kim was dressed head to toe in the shiniest black i have ever seen. She held the band together with a solid bass line, and shook the whole stage during "Assassination Street". For the cramped space she was in, she still kept the grove going!
Mark's first time playing with a headset monitor on stage, He had no troubles that I could tell, and he held the driving wheel up, and rolling. His intro into "Assassination Street" pounded through my head like a steam hammer.
Rich blazed away during "Black Sky Horizon" raw energy seemed to fly out of his fingers, with a fast paced rhythm and a swell of sounds. His simple view of playing with out getting to flashy, keeps the melody together toying between marv's deep vocals.
This was an outstanding show!!
with this reviewer spotting only minor setbacks with sound at the club.
